tbeing a volunteer in the zoo was awesome,

i swear.

only five days,

i knew their names, fed them, played with them,

got chased by one, cleaned their shit, & enjoying every minute of it.

with the best keepermentors of course!

five days was even enough for me to debate with wayne

& correct his misuderstanding of polar bears.

it seems as if i worked there for five years,

or rather 5 hours,

it ended so fast!):

liy&i joined cui at section3 under keepermentors

kumar,kevin&hanafi.

i actually thought kumar was really fierce but after getting to know him more hes actually really nice. hes a senior keeper by the way, cool guy(:

&then came kevin, he loves the animals alot, pretty much the clown of the day.

hanafi, brother of previous mentor at Tapir section, Hamzah aka afro dude, as in realllll high afro hair.

OKAY YES WE BOUGHT OUR OWN RUBBERBOOTS.

our mentors kicked a big fuss about it cause they actually provide, &! WE DIDNT KNOW ALRIGHT.

so they thought we were rich spoiltbrats & liy&cui just kept saying pam pam!

yay so liy&i were sent to the kangaroos,wallabies&emu section!

cleaned their shit,washed the food bowls & all.

I GOT ATTACKED BY THE EMU.

it was the female emu, name emma.

Hanafi said she was bitchy.

'dont sit down ah! later the emu come you cannot run in time'

but he stayed around me all the time until he had to go to the back

to tie the grass.

i screamed infront of all the visitors, oh man!

if youre visiting the zoo, 11am&4pm is the feeding time for

kangars for the public!

they dont bite! unless youre unlucky enough to get alura, one of the kangars.

together with kevin&hanafi, cui liy&i went for the feeding.

after lunch at night safari, which was yummy!

this little boy was so scared so hanafi told me to help him.

so i went & kevin said

'eh, dont molest the little boy lah'

white tigers feeding!

i swear theyre the most beautiful animals alive

& no they are NOT albinos(;

i met the pygmy hippos too!

they have a baby susu(: & asaki, flying off soon.

asaki is slimy(gel-like substance to protect them from sun burn), spoilt, & cuuuuteeeezxzx.

kevin kissed her. zomg.

cleaned up the warthogs exihbit.

it was filled with pile loads of shit and dried leaves.

really gross but we worked hard & were rewarded by superduper sweet watermelons(:

we went back to section three!:D

kevin&hanafi were replaced by yudy&adilah.

basically did the same thing but for the white tigers,

kumar allowed us to feed!

the fish... hrm.

& the animal presenter went

'pls do not get to excited as our keepers are actually only feeding the fishes'

FINE! haha

thats about it.

we transferred to Gibbon island

under Rajan. cool dude, talks alot to keep us entertain.

& the only keeper we met that doesnt smoke!:D

started off with cleaning the alpacas (american camels) cage.

they dont stink, their shit either. their shit looks alot like coffee beans if you wanna know.

they kept on nibbling on our shirts, tame animals, unlike emus!

we were allowed to feed them bananas & bread, they gobble.

we went on to feed the saki monkeys!

males are white faced with black coating, female are of a lighter coat.

& they have a baby(:

they enjoy corn the most, but when we had none left,

we did what rajan told us to do.

show them the bucket, after seeing that theres no more corn, they ll take the rest! SO CUTTTTTEEEEEEEEE!

they dont bite too, cause they take the food off our fingers with they hands.

next we went to feed the cotton top tamarins!

tiny little creatures, they eat meal worms.

yup live ones, so we had to put them on our hands.

we fed lemurs as well!

theyre quite shy, so they tend to grab and go.

Rajan brought us to children worlds' keeper inn for lunch where

they come together to play games.

Jenga became like deal or no deal.

as if one tile cost $250,000.

hanafi was there, along the way we ment adilah.

keepers all hated the food cause it was fish.

'wah the food damn power sia!'

'ehh i got extra for you!' (truth is, they didnt eat)

after lunch we fed the stingrays, maned wolves & flamingos.

gross, bloody fishes and their insides.

first i had to walk in muddy water, as high as my boots

to feed the flamingos.

i was so disgusted after pouring the intestines & fishhead,

rajan went

'stick your hand in & stir it'

i stared at him but he looked serious.

so i went about doing it,

5cm away, 'AH! JUST KIDDING'

'omg youre annoying!'

'ehh rajan dead fish!'

'pick it up lah!'

'huh?! er okay.'

another 5cm away from the fish.

'OI JUST KIDDING LAH, GO TAKE THE BROOM'

in the end he managed to make us try the gibbon's

food. fibre pallets to be exact.

he ate it, so we tried it.

cuixia almost vomited, hahaha.

fed the mane wolves, FROZEN RATS.

he threw it at liy&cui & they screamed like mad.

he knew i wasnt scared though, so he didnt really attempt,

but simply put the rat on my hand.

it was cold, & soft.

imagine, a BUCKET filled with frozen rats,

& some, as big as a cat. reow.

fed the stingrays as well!

stupid cui refused to touch the fishes so rajan made

liy pour the reminding blood on her hand.

'eh you all friends right!'

yup so we got to feed alot of animals today,

met rajan&talked about our future.

IT SUCKED SO BAD.

1. it was our last day because of our carnival on the 24th.

2.the head keeper was back.

we decided to go back to section3 for kumar(:

the one who has been really taking care of us.

upon reaching the cooperate office(not opened cause we were damn early, like every other day)

we finished up a card for our mentors& liy folded pretty paper cranes, they could fly, like our mentors(:

we bought cereal boxes for them as a surprise too.

when we went to secton3's kitchen,

only kumar&yudy was around. cause the stern&unfriendly headkeeper was back.

they day was pretty much ruin by him.

that aside,

i had to clean the warthogs cages!

the ones inside. smelly cause there were shit.

but i didnt complain (:

swept the shit while cui helped me with the leaves

scrub like nuts cause yudy said

'pls do properly, today got big boss'

i didnt want to give him trouble so yup.

kumar was happy(;

liy went with yudy to the kangars section,

she met her new bf, uda, the emu lah.

yudy said that its damn horny.

well its true, cause it not only molested liy,

it molested cui&i too.

& he ll sit behind you pecking gently.

sign of mating actually.

hrm!

but he means no harm, unlike the female emu.

went on to the white tigers section to clean the glass panel

while liy&cui cleaned the emergency box.

yup we gave kumar&yudy the cranes,card and cereal boxes.

we decided to stay till 6 when we could actually leave at 4, normal days we leave at 5+.

we were allowed to go up close to the beautiful white tigers!

like less than 50cm away from them!

& kumar gave us brolga feathers!(:
