we have a new maid.
i can't deny that i am glad that i don't have to do the household chores anymore, but i realise that im losing my mom all over again.
And because we have someone to clean up after our mess, the whole Mahjong season starts too. After listening to my sister i guess i've learnt to accept Mahjong as a form of leisure activity but i still can't stand how the living room will stink of smoke. its just, unbearable.

I'd rather have her at home and scream and nag at me to do my share of housework than to not see her at all. Without the need to keep the house clean, i only see her when there's Mahjong.

That aside, i really think i should skip school this Friday so i don't have to see them get ready for the carnival.

Over breakfast this morning, Daddy told my sis&i his dream retirement plans.
1. Buy a piece of land in JB
2. Plant fruit trees and vegetables. (he even know which fruit trees and veggies to
grow)
3. Build a kampong house. (Level one will be just an empty space for cars, level two
will have four bedrooms and a common room in the middle of those four rooms. An
open-air common room mind you.)
"Raining how? Use umbrella to move from room to room?"
"Ya lah. Or the corridors can be sheltered."
"What if you come back to singapore and people steal your fruits!"
"Take lah. Just don't chop them off."
"People will rob your house."
"Its a kampong house. Don't even have a TV, nothing to rob."
4. Buy a portable air-conditioner.
5. Build a bomb shelter just to lock his air-conditioner in it.
"If I use a build-in air conditioner people CONFIRM come and take."

My dad's still a kampong boy at heart, he wants to keep goats and chickens too so he
will have eggs and warm goat's milk(eww). He spoke with so much hope, with wandering
eyes like a child dreaming of his perfect job. My sister agreed to pay for it without
much thought, there was probably no need for any. My dad has done so much for the both of us.

It is now a common dream :)

I know farm stays usually refer to those in Aussie or Newzealand but now I picture my
kids telling their classmates,
"I went to my ahgong's farm during the holidays to eat mango and feed chickens, you
leh?"
If the best they can come out with is, "CHEY farm only, so smelly."
I'm pretty sure my child will still be able to smile and be proud of his/her ahgong's humble little farm.
Moreover, he/she will have something to write for compositions like
"My Grandfather" or "The Most Memorable Holiday".

Tiny/mini/primary school sailors are looked so adorable! Even their sails were half
size of what the Adiv kids had.

I came down today because I figured that it'll be my last chance to see him sail for
Inter-schools. Felt out of place, looked out of place;
"You're not a sailor right? Supporting?"

I can only hope that I wasn't annoying.
"Where's justin? Those are 420s ah?"
"Omg.. So many boats!"
"I cannot see anything..."
"What's OCS?? What's DNF?"
"Where's the finishing line?"

When they finally came back to shore after four long races, cass shouted for me to
help out. By then I already figured that I had zero knowledge about the sport so I
didn't move, tried to look busy... Then I walked into one of those metal wheel thingy
they used for the boats.

Ah, netball is all I know, really. STILL PROUDA IT THOUGH!

This little SJI sailor walked towards his dad to say hi and stared at his sister, who
was burying her head in a book and said "what are you doing here". Next, Jus walked
towards me with his chickenbackside hair, cool shades and a bleeding cut..
"Why you come?" I was too drowning myself in Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Funny.

After they were done protesting against eachother, (sailing is so damn complicated) I
felt more appreciated so :) :) :) real glad I came down today.

Netball season starts tomorrow, I'll probably not sleep tonight. I want us to start the season off well, even if we don't win, we can still put up a good fight.
Some teams start a season off knowing that they will play for the finals;
"Must support us at finals OKAY!"
Some teams start a season off with dreams, goals, and fear.
"Top 4, but take one step at a time"
Some teams just have to believe.

I really wanna know how I'd feel next time when I look back and think about my two
years in VJ. I know I can still control that now by trying to make it better but I
I'm not sure if its really worth the while.

I mean, its a cool school, really. We have full days of from school and people around
are pretty lovely though having some butt-faces around is inevitable, teachers and the student body alike. Its just that, I haven't really been enjoying myself because I've been trying so hard to stay afloat, to keep up.

I never used to curse, but it has really come to a point where I'll just tell myself to move the fuck on.

We don't ever stop being troubled don't we? Human beings are such complicated
creatures. We worry about getting full marks for a spelling test, getting to a top
Secondary school, scoring single digits for L1R5, a space in an university, getting a
stable job, enough to feed the family, more monetary issues and other random issues to come as we grow.
Why can't we just be like elephants?

I'm not saying that the education system is flawed, its just if its the competitiveness that is motivating us then something is just not right.

we, including myself, tend to think that no one understands, or that no one listens.
Why is it so hard for everyone to simply forgive and forget,
or appreciate the fact that people do try and understand?

From the very beginning, I tend to dwell upon a lot of issues, problems or mistakes.
just like whenever i miss a shot, i find it hard to concentrate for the next because i'll be thinking about why i missed that shot. i guess that's why i cant perform under pressure and i will never attain 100% shots in a game.
i still remember at 05 ez finals both vianne & aowci had 100% shots for the entire game! :)

We had good trainings this week, guess that's why I'm so physically drained.

The last thing I remember was that the GPS system said bus 15 was arriving.
I HONESTLY don't remember boarding the bus as my eyes were pretty much glued to my mini
phone screen..
Well okay, I probably sub-consciously did so since I was aware that my bus
was coming.
Took it for granted that the next single deck bus would be 15, I ended
up on the highway the next second my eyes left my phone.

I had no idea where I was heading.
I had no idea which bus I was on!
To think I was just five stops away from home, ugh.

Bugis. Looks like I was on bus 48 then.
I made sure I took the right bus the next time round..
BUT IT STARTED TO POUR WHEN BUS 12 REACHED EAST COAST ROAD.
Desperate to be home, I walked in the rain and no I wasn't trying to act like some
kinda emo-kid.

TKG Netball C div o5, Zest, B div 07, B div 08, VJNB 09..
VJNB 10.

i guess by the time i was playing for Zest i already realised that every team is different.
05 i had nothing to worry about. i was young & sheltered & had so many seniors to look up to.
Zest was a sudden complete change; i led my own team & the team had really strong basics to begin with.
B div 07 was amazing. we really fought for what we wanted & pushed ourselves on & on & on...
we even trained during recess. how did we do it? where did we get that kinda motivation from?
B div 08 felt like a complete mess somehow. we didnt work with our juniors properly & memories of the season are kinda vague.

VJ? culture shock. no coach, not enough players, no support, no balls, no shit. Apart from a set of Adidas jersey, nothing was comparable to TK... but vjnb09 sparked something off: to never give up, to go against all odds.

VJNB'10 started with 5 people. it was pathetic but we continued training.
VJNB'10 didnt have a coach. we had no idea what to do or how to move on but we continued training. it was as though we had something to prove.
deep down inside i know we all knew that it is almost impossible to make it anywhere but no one said a word, cause we wanted to believe. & we did :)

what we have now is what we earned. lets keep it going girls, we're gonna make this work.

Grandma showed me that the human brain is ruled by the human heart,
i hope she'll recover. Through it's pretty much impossible, that useless bum better try and wake up.
Even if you are strong mentally, the human heart is still weak. Unless you don't have feelings.

What if something like a car accident happens tomorrow as i make my way to the aiport?
Maybe i'll lose a slight part of my memory,
maybe my memory will stop in year 2008.
Maybe my family will think that i lost it completely and disown me,
maybe my TK friends will pretend they never knew me for the same reason.
Maybe i'll be allowed to repeat the year in VJ with no strings attached,
maybe i'll choose another school.
Maybe i'll still choose to do Physics over literature,
maybe i'll try a brand new sport.
Maybe i won't do 4H2s subjects,
maybe i won't be S52.
Well, maybe i'll fall in love with someone else.

Maybe not.

I think my heart is weak, like my Grandma, and i don't think i really want to do the year all over again. I met so many people this year, i met you this year, not a slight part of my memory after all. okay MAYBE i should go pack noawwwwmeow.
